“The course itself was a bit of an eye opener being in the current position I hold at Specialised Engineering Products Limited; as the Operations Director there is a responsibility to reduce accidents and ensure that the business has the best working environment and processes and is organised to manage risks, also to make sure that the workplace is a safe environment for the workforce and all visitors.

At the end of the day, everyone who works for Specialised Engineering Products Limited needs to return home safe and well to their family, that’s why we are so committed to Health & Safety at Specialised Engineering Products Limited.”

"When I was first asked to attend the Leading Safely course I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As I am a relatively new member of the business, I am still learning new aspects every day. The course was very informative and a definite eye opener highlighting my responsibilities to the Company and the legalities that come along with it (quite scary if I’m honest!). As a result, safety has been highlighted as an even bigger concern, which I will actively become more involved in.

SEP Ltd are constantly looking for new and better ways to provide safe working areas and practice for all its employees. The course asked us to complete a Personal Commitment after the course and this was the result:

• Improve employee awareness of roles and responsibilities relating to Occupational Safety and Health
• For Management to get better understanding of employee welfare
• Improvement of standards for the procurement of goods, equipment and services.

I am happy to report that these improvements are all underway."
